A shared interest in gardens, natural history museums and collections forms the basis of our collaborative projects. Often the source for these projects is our own garden, the work is generated through a synthesis of intuitive perspectives, recordings, observations and collections of materials generated over the seasonal cycle within its micro-climate/microcosm. Some Kind of Existence emanates from childhood memories of keeping silkworms triggered by our mulberry tree reaching maturity.

“The completeness, perfection, and near indestructibility of the cycle did not escape us. That evening, like Gods, we celebrated with Vat 69 the lives dedicated to eating, spinning, mating.”
(Janet Frame, ‘An Angel at My Table, 1984)
