Alex Rizkalla’s wreath of chairs on the metal screening of the Federation Square car park, Musical Chairs / Endgame, similarly refers to forgotten histories, Using the game musical chairs as a metaphor, he refers to the sinister operations of the kind of evolutionism in which culture and people are systematically displaced and dispossessed in the interests of post-industrial modernity.  Like Walter Benjamin, Rizkalla sees the values of the outsider in their access to a vision of urban society that is critical, non-complicit and advocatory.
